Welcome from Pastor Deborah!

Pastordeborah@sunnysidenazarene.com

Greetings! I am privileged to be lead pastor here at Sunnyside Church of the Nazarene, serving in this position since June 1, 2025. I am passionate about sharing the Word of God in engaging and thought-provoking ways. I desire to see people come to know God more deeply as they pursue a relationship with him based on what the Word of God says about God Himself, about people, and about the relationship He desires to have with each one of us! Check out my blog for some thoughts for the week and resources and links related to the sermons.

After spending forty years in the world of Christian education as a teacher, principal, college professor, program and regional director,

Dr. Miller decided to pursue another doctorate, this one in ministryso that she could continue directly fulfilling her passion and calling

to help people pursue a deeper relationship with Jesus

This led her to Nazarene Theological Seminary, where she graduated

in 2024 with a Doctorate in Ministry in Spiritual Formation and Discipleship.

God opened the door to use that degree when Sunnyside Nazarene called her

to accept a lead pastor assignment in June, 2024. Pastor Deborah is excited to be serving

in a leadership role where she is able to engage and apply her passion for the Word of God,

prayer, worship, and communicating truths in a way that helps people understand and grow spiritually.

She loves reading, writing, hiking, traveling, and spending time with her husband Roger,

their two children Grant and Melissa, their spouses and their five grandchildren,

as well as their Australian labradoodle C.S. Lewis (Louie).
