At Sunnyside Nazarene, giving is one of the meaningful ways we participate in what God is doing among us and beyond us. You can give in person during our worship service, online thorugh our secure giving portal, or via text for simple, convenient generosity. Of course, we know giving of our resources is never easy. It is counter-culture to give away anything--much less financial resources. But we believe that practicing generosity as a lifestyle and spiritual discipline helps us stay disentangled from the idolatry of materialism. We also recognize that the church, both locally and globally, depends on the faithful giving of our members and attenders in order to function missionally as the body of Christ. We give so that we can serve; we give so that we might have the resources to love our neighbors.

We believe in the biblical principle of tithing as seen in Malachi 3:10, where God invites His people to "bring the whole tithe into the storehouse," and in 2 Corinthians 9:7, where Paul reminds us that God loves a cheerful giver. We give not out of obligation, but out of trust, believing that God is Jehovah Jireh, the Lord Who Provides (Genesis 22:14). Jesus Himself said, "Give, and it will be given to you, pressed down, shaken together, and running over" (Luke 6:38). Our generosity is simply a response to His faithful provision.

Other ways to give

Beyond the regular tithe, those who wish to give financially to specific ministries or outreaches may do so through designated giving. Our giving link provides many options for those who wish to direct their gift to a specific area like children's or youth ministry, Celebrate Recovery, our the Love in Action (benevolence) fund.
